Here are some close up pictures showing the different sides of the Genius Ring Presenter. The top area is where you will spend your time operating the device. It has the touch control panel, and the four buttons needed to control the mouse and laser functions. The right side has a three position switch to set the Ring Presenter in mouse mode , presenter mode, or to power it off. The rear side of the Ring Presenter has the charging port and the laser pointer.
As far as actually using the device, I can tell you when you use it for the first time it does feel a little awkward. One you spend some time with the Ring Presenter, it almost becomes second nature when using it. Keeping the unit charged up is very easy with the included USB charging cable, and the battery life is more than adequate.
There is a very informative page on Genius’s web site that you can visit for very detailed usage capabilities. Here is a link at the Genius Global Site.
Genius has also provided two nice videos on how this Ring Presenter actually works. You can view both of these below.
As you can see by the two videos above, seamless integration with Power Point and Windows makes this Ring Presenter stand above similar devices which only offer one or two controlling elements. If you are an on-the-go business professional this is a must have in your travel gear.
Home users that have a Home Theater PC, or just enjoy watching movies on the computer will find the Ring Presenter very handy. Imagine sitting on your couch several feet away from your computer or HTPC and being able to control the action. I tried it out on Windows Media Center and had the ability to not only start WMC, but navigate my way to watching TV and a DVD movie……. SWEET!
