Default GEIL RAM is awesome!
Just playing with this set of ddr3 GEIL ram DDR3 2000 got it oced to 2058 on default volts of 1.65 looking to oc it even more

now oced from DDR3 2000 TO 2142 yes 2142 and i know theres more room yet

looks like i gotta take that back folks cos...............I JUST GOT 2160 now had to up volts from 1.65 to 1.66

i got my Crucial sticks from 800mhz to 1300mhz cas 5 (@2.4v......)

meh - when i get my DDR3 - im going for it.
can you send me some

and ya - DDR2 @ >DDR3 speeds
still - was 2.4v though (from the 1.8v stock/2.2v max recommended)

i won the uk overclocking championships
by using corsair value ram rating at 667 to 800 and b0 step quad 6600 to 3.98gigs all on a b0
on water
ddr 2 ram
is easy

ddr3 totally different and on x57 mem controller is on board so you have to be really careful with volts and scaling vtt accordngly otherwise bye bye cpu

how did you win on that - unless it was CPU clocks, in which case the ram would have been @ 900mhz (450*9 = 4ghz)

i know about the whole cpu ocing with i7s - i was just baiting.
i would love some ddr3 ram though - dual channel - getting a H55 board for my itx build (see my thread)
